From Barefoot Lagoon

The Cayman Islands offers an enjoyable variety of nightlife. Once you arrive, consult our local publications for the latest listings. Local publications with nightlife information include Friday's edition of our local newspaper, the Caymanian Compass; Key To Cayman; What's Hot; What to Do; and Destination Cayman.

Night Life & Entertainment

Grand Cayman Islands offer an enjoyable variety of nightlife and entertainment. Because of the strict laws here, bars and clubs and dance halls must close by 1:00am on weekdays and midnights on Saturdays. There are no nightclubs open on Sunday.

Night Life, is quieter than many other Caribbean countries but this laid back island does have several nightclubs catering to American and Caribbean musical tastes. As well as two comedy clubs.

As many visitors rise early for morning dives, nightlife in the Cayman Islands is generally quiet. The most activity is found along Seven Mile Beach, however, where you can club-hop, enjoy some live bands, and even take in a comedy show.

"One of the top 100 bars in the WORLD!"
~
Newsweek

Why was the Lone Star Bar & Grill selected from all the thousands of bars? According to Newsweek’s readers, "it’s the people that make this place; from barefoot beer-drinking divemasters to Armani-clad martini-drinking lawyers. From vacationers to local fishermen, everyone mixes at the ol’ "Lone Dog".

Walk into the Lone Star and you’ll see what they mean. The walls are lined with diving souvenirs and shirts sent from people all over the world. In fact, there are so many sent each year that they take up every square inch of the ceiling as well!

When Mike & Bobbi Flowers first opened Lone Star they threw a huge party and invited every divemaster on the island. They only asked that each guest bring a signed t-shirt. Since then the divemasters have called the place home, and the staff family.

Also a family-oriented restaurant, you’ll find extra-large portions at very reasonable prices on their Tex-Mex menu, or go on a Monday or Thursday for their world-famous Fajita-Rita special which no one can resist!

But perhaps the bar section is where the real mix happens. After dark you’re sure to find a crowd of local divemasters mixing with bankers and attorneys. From all walks of life and from all over the world, people continue to flock to Lone Star — Come and find out why! And before you come, look for specials and discounts throughout this magazine.
